Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: 15 April 2025

Please read these terms carefully before enrolling in or attending any Saffron Quill programme. By registering or participating, you agree to the terms set out below.

1. About Saffron Quill

Saffron Quill is a financial literacy education provider based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. We operate at Jalan Damansara 88, 50490 Kuala Lumpur. These Terms & Conditions govern your use of our educational programmes and related materials.

References to "we", "us", or "our" refer to Saffron Quill. References to "you" or "participant" refer to the individual enrolled in or attending a Saffron Quill programme.

2. Nature of Our Content

All Saffron Quill programmes are strictly educational in nature. Our content is designed to improve financial literacy and improve participants' ability to read and understand retirement-related documents and terminology.

Our programmes do not constitute:

  • Financial advice or investment advice of any kind
  • Recommendations regarding any specific financial product, instrument, or service
  • Legal, tax, or accounting advice
  • Any form of regulated financial advisory service under Malaysian law

Nothing in our programme content, written materials, verbal discussions, or any other communication should be interpreted as a recommendation to take any particular financial action. Participants seeking personalised financial, legal, or tax advice should consult a licensed professional.

3. Enrolment

Enrolment is confirmed once we have received your completed registration and full payment (or agreed payment arrangement). We will issue a written confirmation by email to the address provided at registration.

Saffron Quill reserves the right to decline or cancel an enrolment at our reasonable discretion. In the event we cancel a confirmed enrolment on our initiative, we will provide a full refund of fees paid.

Programme places are limited. Submission of a registration enquiry does not itself constitute a confirmed enrolment.

4. Fees & Payment

Programme fees are as published at the time of enrolment. Current fees are:

  • Reading Your Retirement Numbers (Workshop): RM 540
  • Retirement Literacy Group Programme: RM 1,820
  • Year-Long Retirement Reading Track: RM 4,420

Fees are quoted in Malaysian Ringgit (RM) and inclusive of all programme materials unless otherwise stated. Payment details will be provided upon registration. We reserve the right to update fees for future cohorts; fees confirmed at the time of your enrolment will not be affected.

5. Cancellation & Refunds

Cancellation by Participant

If you need to withdraw from a programme before it commences, please notify us in writing to [email protected]. The following applies:

  • Cancellation more than 14 days before the programme start date: full refund of fees paid, less any administrative fee of RM 50.
  • Cancellation between 7 and 14 days before the programme start date: 50% refund of fees paid.
  • Cancellation fewer than 7 days before the programme start date: no refund, however you may transfer your place to another person at no additional charge.

For the Year-Long Retirement Reading Track, "programme start date" refers to the first monthly session. Refund eligibility for mid-programme withdrawal will be assessed on a case-by-case basis, with a maximum refund of the pro-rata value of undelivered sessions.

Cancellation by Saffron Quill

In the event that we cancel a programme due to insufficient enrolments or unforeseen circumstances, all participants will receive a full refund of fees paid. We will provide as much notice as reasonably practicable.

If a programme is rescheduled rather than cancelled, we will notify participants and offer the option to transfer to the rescheduled date or receive a full refund.

6. Attendance

Participants are expected to attend sessions at the scheduled times and location. Session dates will be confirmed upon enrolment. We are unable to offer refunds or fee reductions for sessions missed by the participant.

Where a session must be rescheduled due to circumstances on our side, we will provide written notice and a revised schedule with as much advance notice as possible.

For the Year-Long Retirement Reading Track, attendance at quarterly book-club sessions is encouraged but not mandatory for continued enrolment.

7. Programme Materials

Printed materials (including glossaries, worksheets, and the annual companion for the Year-Long track) are included in the programme fee and provided for the personal use of the enrolled participant. They are not for redistribution, resale, or commercial use.

Digital supplementary materials, where provided, are for personal use only. You may not share login credentials or distribute digital content to third parties.

8. Participant Conduct

We aim to maintain a respectful, inclusive learning environment. All participants are expected to engage courteously with facilitators and fellow participants. Saffron Quill reserves the right to ask a participant to leave a session, or withdraw them from a programme, if their conduct is disruptive, disrespectful, or incompatible with a constructive learning environment.

In the event of such a withdrawal, we will consider refund eligibility on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the circumstances.

Audio or video recording of sessions is not permitted without prior written consent from Saffron Quill.

9. Limitation of Liability

Saffron Quill provides educational content to help participants understand retirement-related documents and concepts. We do not make any representations that completing our programmes will lead to any specific financial outcome, decision, or improvement in personal circumstances.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable Malaysian law, Saffron Quill shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental loss or damage arising from participation in our programmes or use of our materials. Our total liability to any participant in connection with a programme shall not exceed the fees paid by that participant for the relevant programme.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

10. Intellectual Property

All programme content, written materials, frameworks, and methodologies developed and used by Saffron Quill remain the intellectual property of Saffron Quill. Participants are granted a personal, non-transferable licence to use materials for their own learning purposes only.

Reproducing, distributing, or adapting Saffron Quill materials for any commercial or public purpose without prior written consent is not permitted.

11. Privacy

We collect and process participant personal data in accordance with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA). Our full Privacy Policy is available at privacy-policy.html and explains how we collect, use, retain, and protect your personal data, and the rights you have in relation to that data.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The current version will always be available on our website. For participants already enrolled in a programme, we will provide reasonable notice of any material changes. Continued participation following notice of a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.
